Drone services
At the end of April 2025, we received an Approval Decision from the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency for operations in the special category of unmanned aircraft systems. Our 6 employees were trained and passed exams for the A1/A3 and A2 subcategories, thus obtaining certificates of competency for remote pilots.
This enabled us to introduce new services, which are:
GREENHOUSE SHADING
We are the first in the Croatian market to start shading protected areas using drones, a practice that has been carried out in other EU countries for many years.
Greenhouse shading has been performed worldwide for years in one of three ways: initially manually, then mechanically, and finally by helicopter or airplane (where permitted). Currently, the fourth method of application is in focus — applications using drones.
The drone shading operation aims to provide precise and efficient application of shading materials (liquid coatings) on greenhouses and glasshouses. This is done to control or reduce the amount of infrared sunlight entering the interior space to the plants, thereby optimizing conditions for growth and fruiting, while reducing stress caused by excessive temperatures and preventing excessive water evaporation.
Our agricultural producers have recognized many advantages of this shading method compared to manual and mechanical methods:
-
- Faster method – only a few hours needed for 1 hectare of greenhouse
- Safer method as it replaces human labor – no one has to risk their life to perform this task – no need for physical access and minimal human labor required
- Half the amount of water or spray used for shading
- More even and controlled coverage of the greenhouse roof
- Possibility of layered shading on different parts of the greenhouse
All these advantages ultimately result in a huge increase in efficiency and lower costs for the producer.
In autumn, when high temperatures and strong sunlight are no longer a problem but desirable, we also perform washing or removal of the coatings.
CROP FERTILIZATION AND FOLIAR FEEDING
The goal of fertilization and foliar feeding is well known, and using drones this operation can be precise, fast, and efficient, improving crop yields, reducing production costs, and minimizing environmental impact. Drones enable precisely targeted distribution of fertilizers based on the specific needs of the soil and plants, avoiding over-application or under-application, which contributes to optimal resource use and increases the sustainability of agricultural production.
This operation is applicable in all branches of agriculture, from arable farming, fruit growing, and vegetable farming to viticulture.
BROADCAST SOWING
The goal of broadcast sowing using drones is to increase productivity, reduce production costs, and optimize resources. By using drones, seeds can be applied precisely, contributing to optimal growth and development of crops and greater efficiency in agricultural production. Drones enable fast and accurate seed distribution, significantly reducing the need for heavy machinery, especially in hard-to-reach or remote areas. Seed wastage can also be minimized as seeds are distributed precisely according to predefined parameters such as sowing density.
This operation is used in arable farming where it can be applied for sowing cover crops, intercrops, various clover, grass, and clover-grass mixtures.
CROP AND PLANTATION PROTECTION
The goal of crop and plantation protection using drones is timely, precise, and efficient control of pests, diseases, and weeds with minimal environmental impact, cost reduction, and ensuring higher yields. Drones enable even application of plant protection products over large areas or difficult-to-access terrain, optimizing this agrotechnical measure with minimal product wastage. Since no plant protection products in Croatia are currently approved for aerial application, including by drones, we are awaiting the green light from the EU to allow this practice.
This operation would be applicable in all branches of agriculture, from arable farming, fruit growing, and vegetable farming to viticulture.
CLEANING OF SOLAR POWER PLANTS
Various external factors (weather conditions, dust and pollen in the air, bird droppings, etc.) can reduce the efficiency of solar power plants by up to 30%, so they need to be cleaned and maintained. For all interested parties, we are able to apply cleaning agents to solar panels using drones, allowing you to utilize solar power as efficiently as possible and maintain electrical output at the highest possible level.
